Horseface – The Dapper Lipizzaner
Horseface’s eccentric travels across rural New Zealand have been documented in this photographic series by Wellington artists Kate Logan and Tom Box. Long time friends and confidantes of the Dapper Lipizzaner, they have captured portraits of his exploits that are both comedic and poignant.
Like the bad uncle who appears at family events, drinks more whiskey than he should and then fades off into the night, Horseface is fly-by-night. Always well-dressed, but not afraid to get his pants dirty, he is an entertaining fellow. Whether visiting fancy friends, purchasing a vehicle or selling his wares, he likes a little comedy in his life. These portraits also reveal a quieter and more serious aspect of Horseface, one he often keeps to himself. Posing alone in his Grandmare’s home, with his treasured horse blanket, Kate and Tom have captured a delicate and private moment that would melt the cockles of any old nags heart. So come along for the ride and enjoy the Dapper Lipizzaner's horse paradise in pictures. |
